We hope to provide a much-needed forum for those who work on and are interested in women’s history and want to feel connected to a larger community of like-minded people. Think of it as a salon: a place to share ideas, pool historical resources, and stimulate debate in an intimate and relaxed setting.

Our speakers will cover a wide range of topics but are united in their interest in women’s stories. Cafe talks will be located throughout the city of Toronto, in places which are historically relevant to the evening topic, and will often include an on-site historical walking tour. Herstories Cafe is also committed to supporting all things local: speakers will emphasize local women’s histories in particular, and talks will be held at small local cafes and support local business venues whenever possible.
